Many centuries in Murano the production of glass had been limited to every day life and furnishings. In the second half of the 20Th century, thanks to technological innovation along with the ability and motivation of the most talented glass masters such as Ermanno Nason, Lino Tagliapietra, Loredano Rosin, Pino Signoretto, just to name a few, the production of artistic glass works started to gain great relevance. At the end of the 90s Reno Schiavon turned the old family-run glass factory into a workshop where young and often underestimated glass masters had the possibility of expressing their talent and ideas experimenting new techniques and creations, which brought new inputs to Murano s traditional production. Since then several young masters have followed one another: Many of them have become famous or run their own studio. The last investment made by Reno Schiavon, a real patron of Venetian glass art, is represented by the brothers Mattia and Silvio Toso, who decided to artistically gather even though they had so different backgrounds. Mattia has grown under the guidance of Pino Signoretto, rightly considered the most talented glass master and artist of Muranos artistic scene between the 80s and 90s
