Originating from Emilia-Romagna, a region situated in the northeast section of Italy, this folding knife was very popular in the countryside around this area. Its ancient origins date back at least two centuries. This knife was mainly used for work purposes , although it is quite possible that it was used in duels or tavern brawls which were very common at the time. It is a real weapon with the incredibly sturdy frame of the handle, made from a single piece of cow horn, and an external spring mechanism which locks the blade. It is also known as *Curtel del rez* (knife with the curl) due to the shape of the head of the back spring. The knife is 16 cm long when folded and 29 when the blade is opened. The blade remains in full profile and locks up tightly. PRICE UPON REQUEST
