Italy has an ancient tradition in knife making and a great variety in shapes and models with dozens of antique models dedicated to work and defence. This is a great example of the Gobbo pattern folders from the Italian region ABRUZZO made in the late 19th century. The knife features a carbon steel blade mounted on a nice carved horn handle. Blade with three facets on each side, two slanted side panels and a central one and pronounced false edge. The handle is fashioned with two plates of dark horn without a supporting liner. It is a slip joint knife with the blade held in position by a very strong back-spring. The knife remains in excellent conditions, handle shows a few normal separation lines but no cracks. Blade is in full profile and still has a very firm snap. 7,5 cm folded and 13,5 cm in fully extended position
