This 31,5 cm long exhibition bowie knife was made by the renewed Joseph Rodgers Cutlery Company. 19,5 cm straight double edged spare point blade, which appears to be full. stamped transversally Joseph Rodgers & Sons with the famous Star and Maltese cross mark registered by Rodgers in 1764. The blade has its original polish and doesn’t show sharpening marks, some natural pitting due to age and some surface scratches. The nickel silver guard has a nice scalloped design commonly known as *little skirt* by Spanish speaking collectors. The guard has an integral bolster and the grip is made of plain polished ivory, fixed to the tang with four pins. Wonderful patina with no chips or cracks. Guard is 78 mm long by 20 mm wide at the widest and is clean and tight. The nickel silver pommel end is a small ball. Scabbard is made of wood and covered with thin black leather with German silver tip and throat. Scabbard measures 22,5 cm long 4 cm wide and features a belt loop.
