Italy has an ancient tradition in knife making and a great variety in shapes and models with dozens of antique models dedicated to work and defence. This is a great example of the Gobbo pattern folders from the Italian region ABRUZZO made in the late 19th century. The knife features a carbon steel blade mounted on a nice carved horn handle. The handle is fashioned with two plates of dark horn without a supporting liner. It is a slip joint knife with the blade held in position by a strong backspring The knife remains in very good conditions, handle shows a few normal separation lines but no chips or cracks .
