A 19th century French Rouennais combination weapon with round barrel with a smooth bore and being 8 cm in length. The spring knife blade is 11 cm long. The first motion of the gimlet trigger fires the gun after cocking it and when the trigger is pulled after the weapon is fired, the blade springs into position from alongside the barrel. The blade is then lock back released by pulling back the trigger once again. The trigger is designed to serve double duty as an awl to be used to screw into a door frame so that the pistol could be used as an alarm gun if the door was forced open. The scales are horn, with a couple of chips but no cracks, nickel silver mounts. Overall pitting on the blade due to time. The gun retains its detachable loading/cleaning rod. PRICE UPON REQUEST
