Very nice carved ivory handled Laguiole folding knife realized by CALMELS A. LAGUIOLE and dating to 1912. It is characterized by having genuine ivory scales nicely carved in the so called. *AILE DE PIGEON* pattern. They are fixed with three brass pins and are over brass liners, The spine has been nicely hand filed and features the bee locking tab which firstly appeared on a Laguiole knife in 1909. The carbon steel blade bears the maker’s mark stamped transversally. It locks up tightly with no wobble at all and it measures a 6 5/8” - 16,8 cm long when fully extended and 3 5/8” – 9,3 cm long when folded.
