This "oversized" Lock back hunting Folder is of France origin, made in the city of CHATELLERAULT and dates from the mid 19th Century. Mounted a with a sturdy 35 cm – 13.78 inches yatagan blade acid etched on both sides with floral patterns and tang stamped GIMEL PIGNAT. Etchings are still clear. It is topped with a solid stag horn flaring out to the crown at the front bolster. The wonderful stag slabs are over steel liners and between German silver bolsters and mounts. The spine bears a flat faceted lock tab with a ring to easily unlock the blade form the locked open position. The blade has been lightly sharpened and is still razor sharp, shows light pitting but remains in overall excellent conditions. No serious damage to note. 38 cm long folded and 74 when fully extended. SALE PENDING
